CRAPACA and CRITT Agroalimentaire PACA from REINWASTE, participated on December 17, 2019 to the Regional Days of Ecological Transition and Circular Economy in Marseille (FR), a transnational event on the management, reduction and treatment of waste in the Mediterranean.

The Interreg MED European Blue Islands project, in partnership with the South Region and the association Ea eco-entreprises, organized this event, on December 16 & 17, 2019 at the Hôtel de Région in Marseille (FR) on the theme: “What solutions for "Zero Waste" territories in the Mediterranean?”

300 persons participated to this event organized as part of the Regional Days of Ecological Transition and Circular Economy (TEEC). It aimed to highlight major innovations and good practices related to waste management, which could be disseminated in the island and coastal territories of the Mediterranean.

CRAPACA and CRITT Agroalimentaire PACA presented REINWASTE project in a European Projects stand. During the event, PhD. François GROELL and her colleague Isabelle CARLES, expert in environment in agriculture, from CRAPACA, participated to the conference “Use of plastics: what alternatives?”. It was the opportunity to present REINWASTE project and different experimental various research projects on the replacement of mulching plastics in market gardening or horticultural greenhouse sector, and the testing of new agricultural machines which clean plastics to facilitate their recycling. These experiments are carried out among farmers in collaboration with the plastics recycling experts in agriculture from ADIVALOR and the manufacturers of agricultural plastics. This conference was also a chance to present the ADIVALOR sorting, collection and recycling device used for these plastics, device unique in the world, very efficient and transferable to many countries.

This event was the opportunity to contact policymakers, and to organise our FR Regional meeting with S3 managers staff to start preparing the continuation of the REINWASTE project by subscribing to the dynamic of innovation in the agricultural and agrifood sectors of the Sud Provence Alpes Côte-d'Azur region.
